Grounded in its advocacy for sustainable agriculture and community empowerment, Project TUGDO recently carried out a field based learning visit to the bamboo plantation of LN Agustin Farm in Brgy. Iglau-an, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
The activity served as an opportunity to closely observe and evaluate different bamboo species suited for efficient propagation. The team conducted an on-site assessment of planting stocks, discussed practical considerations in selecting quality materials and performed a demonstration on proper soil media preparation to support vigorous seedling development. Essential nursery procedures and management approaches were likewise reviewed and reinforced to promote uniform, efficient, and sustainable production practices.
Through initiatives like this, Project TUGDO strengthens its commitment to advancing bamboo as a viable environmental and livelihood resource for communities.
