ISABELA, Negros Occidental – Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to education and community development, Hope Builders Organization Negros Island Inc. (HBONI) successfully spearheaded the “One for DBLES” initiative on May 2–3, 2026, bringing together volunteers to help restore and beautify Don Benito Lopez Elementary School (DBLES) following the devastation caused by Typhoon Tino.
The two-day volunteer-driven activity mobilized Hope Builders and community partners who dedicated their time and effort to conduct extensive clean-up operations, repaint school facilities, and carry out various improvement works aimed at preparing the school for the upcoming academic year.
Typhoon Tino left significant damage to parts of the school, affecting the learning environment of hundreds of learners. In response, HBONI launched the “One for DBLES” initiative as part of its continuing mission to support schools and ensure that children have access to a safe, clean, and welcoming place for learning.
Volunteers worked side by side in clearing debris, cleaning classrooms and school grounds, repainting structures, and improving the overall appearance of the campus. The collective effort not only helped restore damaged areas but also boosted the morale of teachers, parents, and learners as they prepare for the opening of classes.
The initiative reflects HBONI’s long-standing partnership with Don Benito Lopez Elementary School and its commitment to empowering communities through volunteerism and collaborative action.
