On March 8, 2026, 13 members of HBONI participated in a 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗠𝗛-𝗣𝗦𝗦) “𝗞𝘂𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻”, an activity designed to encourage open conversations about mental health and personal well-being. The session provided a safe and welcoming space where members could pause from their daily routines, reflect on their experiences and support one another emotionally.

The activity was facilitated by 𝗟𝘆𝗿𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘇𝗼𝘀𝗮 (𝗔𝘁𝗲 𝗟𝘆𝗿𝗮), who guided the participants through thoughtful discussions and reflections. She encouraged members to freely express their feelings, share their experiences and listen to others with empathy and respect. Ate Lyra reminded everyone that mental health is an important part of overall wellness and that checking in on each other even with simple conversations can make a significant difference in building emotional support.

During the session, HBONI members shared personal insights and reflections while also actively listening to their peers. Some participants opened up about the challenges they face in their daily lives, while others offered words of encouragement and understanding. This exchange created a strong sense of community, helping members realize that they are not alone in facing their struggles.

The session also emphasized the value of small gestures, like asking “kumusta” or simply listening, in promoting mental well-being. Through guided activities and open dialogue, members were able to build trust, strengthen friendships and foster an environment of care and support within HBONI.

Overall, the MH-PSS “Kumustahan Session” led by 𝗟𝘆𝗿𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘇𝗼𝘀𝗮 (𝗔𝘁𝗲 𝗟𝘆𝗿𝗮) proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience for all participants. It reinforced the importance of empathy, emotional support and community solidarity while promoting awareness about mental health. Activities like this continue to help HBONI members grow not only as individuals but also as a connected and compassionate community.

Quote of the week

“People ask me what I do in the winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.”
