Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental — June 11, 2026 — The Hope Builders Organization Negros Island, Inc. (HBONI) successfully facilitated the SSG and Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP) Strategic Planning Program held on June 10–11, 2026, at Central Philippines State University (CPSU). The two-day activity brought together more than 20 student leaders from the university to strengthen organizational governance, enhance leadership capacities, and formulate a strategic roadmap for the coming academic year.
The planning workshop served as a venue for student leaders to align their goals, programs, and policies with the needs of the student body while promoting participatory leadership and effective organizational management.
The first day focused on the technical and administrative aspects of student governance. Participants engaged in a series of consultations with key university offices, including the Planning Office, Budget Office, and Procurement Office. These sessions provided student leaders with practical guidance on the crafting and preparation of the Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP), Program of Activities and Projects (PAPs), and Program of Receipts and Expenditures (PRE). The day concluded with a synthesis of consultations and a strategic planning session that enabled participants to consolidate insights and identify organizational priorities.
The second day commenced with attendance and a recap of the previous day’s discussions. The program was further enriched by inspirational messages from university administrators, including Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Marc Alexei Caesar B. Badajos, Vice President for Administration and Finance, who emphasized the importance of responsible leadership, accountability, and service-oriented governance.
A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to reviewing the Constitution and By-Laws (CBL) and existing policies of the student government. Participants critically examined current provisions and discussed potential reforms to ensure that organizational policies remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with the evolving needs of the student community.
The student leaders also revisited the organization’s Vision, Mission, Goals, and Organizational Direction, providing an opportunity to reaffirm their shared purpose and long-term aspirations. Through collaborative discussions, they identified and prioritized key programs and strategic initiatives that will guide student-led activities and projects throughout the academic year.
In the afternoon, participants took part in a Committee-Based Action Planning Workshop, where various committees developed detailed action plans based on their respective mandates and responsibilities. These plans were later presented for critique and refinement, encouraging constructive feedback and collaboration among the different committees.
The strategic planning process culminated in the Consolidation and Adoption of the Strategic Plan and Calendar of Activities, establishing a unified direction for the organization and ensuring that planned initiatives are aligned with institutional goals and student needs.
The event concluded with a Commitment Setting Ceremony, awarding of certificates, and closing program, followed by closing remarks from Andrelyn E. Bello, Adviser of the Supreme Student Government.
The ceremony highlighted the participants’ dedication to implementing the plans they had crafted and their commitment to serving the student body with integrity and excellence.
